Student Voice is Shocking
The student voice checklist
ImpactEd has produced a report into student attitudes to school.
It is shocking.
But is it useful? Here are the questions they asked. Answer them as a student in your own school: give a score of 1 - 10, with 10 being the best.
Then, compare these to the scores of different student groups - I’ll provide you these at the end of the questionnaire, so as not to influence you. (There are more detailed ethnic breakdowns in the report).
I guarantee that you will report much higher, not slightly higher, scores than the national average.
When you see the national scores I hope you will:
a) ask your own students
b) use the scores to celebrate where you are better than national
c) use the scores to work out how to improve the experience of your students.
